Continue Your Collection with the Fourth Chiwoo Cheonwang Medals
In 2016, KOMSCO, the official mint of South Korea, broke into the Western market with a new Silver medal – the Chiwoo Cheonwang. Since that initial release, this series has created an almost cult-like following in the coin community. With the limited mintages, intricate designs and metal and finish options, it’s no wonder why collectors are so crazy about this series.
The fourth release in this stunning series – available to pre-order now at APMEX – features a design that brings to mind the initial series offering. Depicting Chiwoo Cheonwang in military dress, observing the battlefield and standing resolute for the next battle, this medal makes for a perfect continuation of the epic Chiwoo saga.
The history of Chiwoo Cheonwang dates all the way back to 2600 B.C. in both Korean and Chinese culture. The real Chiwoo was one of the three founding fathers of China and a leader of the Nine Li tribe in ancient China, whose leadership led him to being known as the God of War. Many of his actions have been transformed into mythological stories of magic and power. Despite these mythological feats, he is truly revered in both cultures and makes a perfect focal point for South Korea’s first-ever Silver bullion series.
Similar to previous releases, the 2019 Chiwoo Cheonwang medals are offered in 1 oz Silver and 1 oz Gold, meaning buyers of all levels can take home this hero.
However, APMEX is also still offering the first three releases. Whether you want the latest design, the first release, or anything in between, shop APMEX to find the largest Chiwoo Cheonwang selection.
