Fifth Release in the Royal Canadian Mint’s Call of the Wild Series Has Landed
Canada is known for its incredible wildlife. From the arctic fox to polar bears, the country is teeming with multiple species of animals. The Royal Canadian Mint celebrates these creatures in the Call of the Wild Series, including their new release the 2018 1 oz Golden Eagle.
This .99999 fine Gold coin is the fifth release in a series that has been tremendously popular since it began in 2014 with the Howling Wolf. Each year, this series has depicted one of Canada’s great species, continuing with the Growling Cougar, Roaring Grizzly and Elk, this series does a wonderful job of offering high quality Gold coins to investors and collectors. With a face value of $200 and limited mintages, it's easy to see why so many have added these specimens to their collections.
The newest release shows a portrait of a Golden Eagle with beautiful feathers and a wide open beak. The weight and purity are also featured, along with a unique line design common among all Call of the Wild coins. The obverse depicts Susana Blunt’s design of Queen Elizabeth II, along with the face value and year. Each coin is guaranteed by the Royal Canadian Mint and housed in a gorgeously designed assay card.
The Royal Canadian Mint has always been one of the most innovative mints in the world. In 2007, they introduced a special .99999 fine Gold Maple Leaf featuring a multi-leaf design and a unique 12-sided rim detail. This three-year Gold Maple Leaf series showcased the mint’s innovation and dedication to providing their customers new and exceptional products. That legacy continues with this .99999 fine 2018 Golden Eagle coin.
