Newest America the Beautiful Series Release Now on Pre-sale
The U.S. Mint's America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coin™ Program continues in 2018 with the first release of the year commemorating Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Michigan. This is the 41st issue of this popular series that began in 2010.
The obverse of this coin features the portrait of George Washington originally designed by John Flanagan, with the inscriptions of "United States of America", "Liberty", "In God We Trust" and "Quarter Dollar". The reverse depicts a scene of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore featuring a natural structure known as Chapel Rock and the white pine tree that grows atop it.
The park includes pristine beaches, hundreds of miles of trails, hardwood forests and towering multicolored sandstone cliffs. Historic sites at Pictured Rocks include an 1874 lighthouse and early U.S. Coast Guard lifeboat stations. There are 15 miles of sandstone cliffs, for which the site is named. The park is a popular destination for hiking, canoeing, kayaking, bird watching, cross-country skiing and ice fishing.
This commemorative coin program is scheduled to end in 2021. A total of 56 coins will be required to complete the set. With most coins in the ATB series readily available at this time, now is an excellent opportunity to diversify your investment portfolio by adding these coins to your holdings.
