The Biblical Series Continues at APMEX
The fifth release of 2018 and 23rd overall release of the 60-coin Biblical Series from Arizona-based Scottsdale Mint is available now at APMEX.
Scottsdale Mint is known for their intricate and one-of-a-kind releases and the Biblical Series is the epitome of Scottsdale’s style. The latest release of their 60-coin series is The Temptation of Jesus, which tells the story of Jesus on a mountain as the devil tempts him with control over all of the countries in the world, in exchange for Jesus’ adoration. Jesus turns down the devil’s offer and states he only adores God.
The Biblical Series launched in 2015 highlighting stories from the Bible – both well-known and some more obscure – with six unique releases each year. Some of these stories include Adam and Eve, Jesus’ baptism and the Ten Commandments.

The newest release in the series is the 2018 2 oz Silver Coin Temptation of Jesus, which depicts an image of the devil and Jesus on top of a mountain after Jesus wandered the desert for 40 days. This image represents the devil offering Jesus rule over all of the countries in the world, in exchange for Jesus to adore him. Jesus says that he will only ever adore God and turns down the devil before returning to Galilee to begin his ministry. The obverse of the coin shows the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as well as the coin’s weight, purity and face value.
