The Lion King Returns to Theaters and Comes to APMEX
In the summer of 1994, the world was introduced to a movie that would become one of the most successful of all time: The Lion King, the 32nd animated feature film from Disney®. After 25 years, we now get to enjoy a remake featuring photorealistic computer-generated animation.
To celebrate this highly anticipated reimagining, the New Zealand Mint produced a limited number of Gold and Silver coins featuring an officially licensed image of Simba standing atop Pride Rock, available exclusively at APMEX.
The .9999 fine Gold coin has a minted of just 250 coins, only 1% of the maximum mintage for previous Disney Gold bullion coins from the New Zealand Mint. Similarly, the .999 fine Silver coins are limited to a worldwide mintage of 25,000, which is roughly 10 times lower than previous releases.
As an APMEXclusive® product, you can shop these in a range of options. From the individual coins to MintDirect® Premier Singles or 250-coin Monster Boxes, we offer something for everyone. While the Gold and Silver coins themselves are incredible collector's items, you can add greater appeal by purchasing PCGS-certified coins, each of which comes with a special Lion King 25th Anniversary label
Disney's The Lion King is set in the pride lands of Africa and follows a young lion cub, Simba, and his life through adulthood. The 1994 film won two Academy Awards for music and a Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture. The remake hits theaters July 18, 2019.
Pick up these Gold and Silver Lion King coins just in time for the new release and add these perfect collectibles to your pride.
