Continue Your Trident Collection with a New Gold Issue
Barbados, in conjunction with Scottsdale Mint, issued its inaugural release of the Trident Series in 2017 with a 1 oz Silver coin. They have now introduced a matching 1 oz Gold coin, continuing the first release of a four-coin series.
The obverse of both the Gold and Silver coins display everything that is Barbados: The national coat of arms featuring a shield with a fist holding two stalks of sugar cane with two national flowers supported by a dolphin fish and a pelican below. The reverse of each prominently displays the head of a trident, broken at the shaft, symbolizing Barbados’ independence from the United Kingdom.
The .999 fine Silver coins have a mintage of 30,000 coins and the .9999 fine Gold coins have a mintage of 5,000 coins. Both coins feature a background of wavy radial lines making it difficult to duplicate them and offer a measure of security against counterfeiting.
With the limited number of coins being produced, the 2017 Gold and Silver Trident bullion coins are sure to be an excellent addition to add diversity to any investment portfolio.
