Isle of Man Nobles - Noble was the name given to a coin introduced by Edward III in 1344. The first Nobles were of Gold and featured King Edward in a ship. These modern Nobles are made from .999 fine Silver in a Proof finish.
The traditional Noble design is that of a Viking longboat sailing on the open seas. The Viking theme relates to the origins of the Parliament of the Isle of Man, the High Court of Tynwald, which was founded by the Vikings during their occupation of the island over one thousand years ago.
