Washington Issues - These coins, medals and tokens feature the portrait of George Washington, and were minted from 1783 to 1795. Many of these were made later than their dates indicate, and some were English in origin. The designs of these coins, medals and tokens honor everything from Washington's birth to significant events in his life to his military achievements to his death. Washington is known for not wanting his portrait on the first United States coinage.

Struck in brass and found on page 86 of the 2018 Guide Book, this medal depicts a bust of George Washington on the obverse surrounded by his name, and the sun, rays and stars on the reverse with the phrase: "SUCCESS TO THE UNITED STATES".
