Paying Homage to the Original
In 1996, The Perth Mint launched their first-ever Lunar Series, drawing its inspiration from China’s ancient lunar calendar, one of the most popular themes for products around the world. Paying homage to that first series, often considered the original lunar series, the Lunar Series III coins will be produced in the same dimensions as Lunar Series I.
Exclusive PCGS Label
To add even more unique appeal and keeping in line with the iconic and beloved Lunar Series, PCGS created custom labels specifically for the Lunar Series III. Each label features a Gold Lunar New Year design with a dark red background. Both of these colors hold importance in China, especially in regard to lunar celebrations. While the coins themselves will be widely popular around the world, these custom PCGS labels create another opportunity for collectors of a certain animal, Perth Mint products or the entire Lunar Series line.Shop now
Animals of the Chinese Zodiac

Unlike the zodiac signs we often think of, the animals correspond to years rather than months. The animal you are assigned, based on your birth year, represents how others perceive you or how you present yourself.
