This is an extremely rare piece of historical Colonial Americana. These coins are believed to have been made in England but circulated in New York about 1785. This is not a Bolen copy from 1862 but an original coin struck in 1785. It has been authenticated and graded by PCGS and they consensus graded it as AU-50. The Redbook, which is the authoritative reference on all U.S. coins, values this Bar Cent at $14,000.00. This pleasing example is very reasonably priced.
