A nice Extra Fine note from the Revolutionary War era. Nice note for a type set.

Currency Highlights:
  • From a group of notes authorized by the Connecticut legislature on May 9, 1776.
  • Housed in an archival quality currency sleeve and graded in Extra Fine condition.
  • The denomination is Six Spanish Milled Dollars.
  • Face: Depicts a beaver gnawing down a tree with the motto: “Perseverando” which is Latin for perseverance.
  • Back: The nature print displays a buttercup leaf.

This note will make a nice addition to any Colonial currency collection. Colonial issues preceded the Continental Notes by many decades, and some are quite rare. These notes are in demand among collectors and rising in value due to the limited numbers printed. Printed by Hall and Sellers of Philadelphia. That firm was formerly known as Benjamin Franklin and Hall. Signatures vary by note. Interestingly, you can see pieces of mica that were mixed into the paper to deter counterfeiting.
