The vignettes of a 3-masted steamship and an oval portrait of Lucy Pickens, depicting "Southern Womanhood" grace the front of this 1862 issue. Pickens' portrait also graced the very popular $100 Confederate note of 1864. Hand-signed and serial numbered. Blank reverse. This note has seen considerable wear, but is an intact example in Good condition. A scarce early Confederate issue! Catalogued as T-44.
