Bad condition

I bought 1 tube. All of 15 coins had milk spots, scratches or thin greenish. This mint has terrible quality.

Two out of five in good condition

Bought five, three had quality issues (scratches and spots). Thus 2 out of five stars. This is premium bullion and is deserving of at least flips. They arrive in thin plastic bags that may cause damage during shipping. I'm seeing more APMEX items being shipped this way lately. I've sent a few items back in the past, but getting tired of the same issues.

Pros

  • Collectible (lower mintage)

Cons

  • Poor Condition

Bought 10, of which 2 were fine and the rest had spots, scratches or thin greenish/milkspot haze. I know its not APMEX`s fault, rather the mint that has terrible quality control.

Fun Coin

Picked up a pair of these as I continue to expand my Sovereign Coin collection. Low mintage of 10,000 and a "first of" make this an interesting coin; no idea what it will do in the future. The coin itself is relatively unremarkable in my opinion. The lion is nice, but the detail on the shield seems lacking on my specimens. Maybe I got some weak strikes. There is also some minor milk spotting on one of the coins. Not a coin you are going to find yourself staring at regularly. If they were priced like the Ukraine Archangels or the Russian St. George's, I would have been pretty disappointed. Saving grace is the "low" premium for such a limited mintage here. Time will tell...

Pros

  • Collectible (lower mintage)
