Nickels

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

This is an inexpensive way to collect Buffalo Nickels. Please note that due to age of coins there is wear and tear. Some coins will look brand new while others not. It was definitely cheaper to go this way than a coin shop.

  • Pros
  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Collectible (lower mintage)
  • Easy to Sell
  • Bottom Line
  • Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Nice condition but poor variety

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I ordered three rolls (60 coins) of these, and they were in nice condition (I would say Fine to Very Fine for most of them). However, 46 were either 1935, 1936, or 1937. Most of the remainder were '26, '27, or '30s. Only one was 1920, no teens. This makes for a rather weak starter for a collection, though you might find some in decent condition instead of in poor or bad condition.

  • Pros
  • Mint Condition
  • Cons
  • Common (higher mintage)
  • Bottom Line
  • Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

3 Rolls and nothing to show for.

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I ordered 3 rolls in 2 different orders. Out of 60 coins there were 9 usable and different dates and mint marks. The other 51 coins were all repeats and mostly of the 1935 and 1936 veriety. Not one coin in the teens and just one coin in the 20's. If you want to collect the Buffalo Nickel go and buy them one at a time.

  • Pros
  • Recognized Brand
  • Cons
  • Common (higher mintage)
  • Hard to Sell
  • Bottom Line
  • No, I would not recommend this to a friend

A Nice Variety of Dates and Mints

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I received two rolls today (40 coins) only one business day after it was shipped and was very impressed with the careful way the coins were packaged as well as the speed of delivery. Because of the odds of higher mintage years, I thought most of the selection would be 1935-1937, but I got a time capsule of everything from 1920-1938, including a lot of D and S mints. The Buffalo is notorious for uneven wear, so I got many that had fairly worn dates, but they were all legible and the rest of the coin away from the date was often a F, VF, or XF, so I was very satisfied and happy with this purchase. There is a lot of charm and fun in having this coin in any condition.

  • Pros
  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design
  • Collectible (lower mintage)
  • Bottom Line
  • Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

1 Roll review

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

New to Apmex so I bought one roll to test out. 1-1926 1-1930 2-1935 The rest were all 1936-1937. Would of been better off buying each coin individually for less to expand my collection. Did enjoy the 26 though.
