This coin was reported to have caused a scandal when it was released due to Miss Liberty's exposed breast but news accounts from the era do not bear that out. However, the design was changed the following year adding chain mail to her outfit. Perhaps this was to let the world know that America was ready for battle. And America did enter World War I during 1917. A magnificent coin!
