A beautiful problem free RED coin. This is a truly beautiful Colonial Coin! It is well-struck for this issue. These tokens were struck in England, just after the Revolutionary War, for circulation in the new States.

Coin Highlights:
  • Graded as MS-63 RED by PCGS.
  • Called a Kentucky Token simply because Kentucky (K) is on the top of the pyramid on the reverse.
  • Obverse: A hand holding a scroll at center with the message "OUR CAUSE IS JUST." The words "UNANIMITY IS THE STRENGTH OF SOCIETY" are written around the rim.
  • Reverse: A pyramid with all 15 states represented, with Kentucky on the top. Many believe these tokens were produced to commemorate Kentucky being the 15th state admitted into the Union.

Protect your Kentucky Token in style by adding an attractive presentation box to your order.

The states are listed as follows: Top row K (KY); second row RI, VI (RI, VA); third row V, NC, NY (VT, NC, NY); fourth row MS, MD, SC, NH (MA, MD, SC, NH); and the bottom row D, P, NJ, G, C (DE, PA, NJ, GA, CT).

These tokens were believed to be produced between 1792 and 1796 as Vermont was admitted in 1791 and Tennessee was admitted in 1796 as the 16th State.
