The Royal Australian Mint and the U.S. Mint have partnered to create a two-coin proof set, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the historic Apollo 11 Moon landing. Each coin is graded a perfect Proof-70 by PCGS, with the First Day of Issue designation.

The numbered certificate of authenticity included with the set is signed by both the CEO of the Royal Australian Mint, and the Director of the U.S. Mint. APMEX is proud to be an authorized purchaser of both the United States Mint, as well as the Royal Australian Mint to bring you a collaboration set from both Sovereign Mints.

There is an extremely limited amount of sets available, with only 10,000 of these produced worldwide. Even less sets have both coins graded a perfect Proof-70 First Day of Issue by PCGS.

Apollo 11 Moon Landing

July 1969 marks the historic moment mankind first stepped foot onto the Moon. Commander Neil Armstrong and Pilot Buzz Aldrin landed the Apollo 11 Lunar module "Eagle" on July 20 on the Moon's Sea of Tranquility. The event was broadcasted live, with over 600 million viewers estimated to have watched this significant moment. Australia provided four radio antennas to help receive and live broadcast images of the moon walk. Armstrong described the event as "one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind", referring to reaching one of humanity's most significant achievements.

Royal Australian Mint has produced a series of Proof coins to commemorate the historic Moon Landing from 1969. Shop the full Moon Landing series here!
