Pre-1965 90% Silver coins, sometimes referred to as junk Silver or scrap Silver, are a great way to start your Silver investments. These Silver coins were pulled from circulation with the introduction of copper/nickel clad coins and the rising demand of Silver. The public saved them for their 90% Silver content as a rainy day fund they can fall back on.

Interesting Assortment of Culls

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Got my second order of 90% silver culls today. I got mostly standing liberty quarters. Nearly all were dateless slicks with a few having the dates barely readable. Got two Barber quarters...one 1897 and one worn so thin you could barely tell it was a Barber quarter. Got one boring 1961-D Washington also. Condition was exactly what I expected and I was 100% happy with my order. I like the old ones....so much more interesting than newer Washington quarters but the down side is that more silver is worn away so you don't get quite the silver weight you get with the newer coins. I buy for silver content but I'm a hopeless romantic who loves to think of all the people who handled these coins so long ago...

Had a few coins that were not Pre 1965 90% silver

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I ordered 4 bags and received (2) 1965 quarters and one 1967, four dimes 2004, 2007, 1967 and one 1963 Canadian. To be fair all of them were very dirty so I cleaned them and then realized they were not what I ordered. I promptly called APMEX and they replaced them, no questions asked. Thanks apmex!

Great Fun

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Bought two $10 bags of this value silver. Got quarters and dimes. Quarters were as expected, some in pretty rough shape. The dimes were great fun. Got 4 seated liberty (including one dated 1838 in good to very good condition), 19 Barber, 36 Mercury, 40 Roosevelt and 1 Mexican 10 centavos - silver. Some dimes are pretty beat up, but that was indicated in the description. Will buy these again.

Buyer Beware

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

i have ordered this four different times, the first time I received all quarters, some were slick and missing dates but they weighed up to be slightly over 7 oz of silver. For my second order I received half dollars, despite there being holes, dents and portions clipped off it ended up being roughly 6.97 ounces of silver. My last two orders of this particular item were complete disappointments. I received 233.4 grams of silver dimes along with a 1965 and 1974 dime that I didn't include (obviously) because they aren't silver. 233.4/31.1= 7.5 oz, now times that by .9 to reflect the 90% silver ratio and we get 6.7543 oz of silver. I also received a bag of half dollars and despite looking relatively good they weighed up to a measley 239.2 grams. 239.2/31.1= 7.6913 oz, now times that by .9 again and we get 6.9221 oz of pure silver. I didn't care when the first half dollar order totaled 6.97 oz because the prior order of quarters weighing over 7 oz evened that out but this one is ridiculously off. 233.4+239.2=472.6. 472.6/31.1= 15.196 x .9 =13.6765. 1/3 of an oz of silver shy of what I had purchased. Had the two dimes been silver it still would have been off by over a tenth of an oz which is quite a bit when dealing with precious metals. I recommend caution when buying this. Always weigh it, don't rely on counting alone and make sure the dates are right. Personally I will not buy this junk silver anymore. Just not worth the lost silver and the lost time because while Apmex did make good on the two dimes that were non-silver they were quick to point out that approximate does not mean exact so you will likely not get 7 full oz's of silver in your order.

3rd times the charm

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Well this time everything was perfect, package arrived in 4 days. All weighed correctly. A nice mix of half dollars. All were just as described, worn, bent, cleaned, holed, gold plated etc...I love buying these for there diversity and barter appeal. When all is said and done this is another great lot offered by Apmex. With regards, loyal customer for life

Disappointed VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Is it really that difficult to send 90% silver? Is it worth losing business? I've read several reviews with same complaint. Out of the supposed $10 face value of all dimes, one is an Australian nickel with no silver and 6 Roosevelt dimes post 64 with no silver and one penny with no silver. I've purchased numerous orders but this is unacceptable.

Nice purchase

Nice purchase! Received 20 half dollar ranged from 1918-1964. Unfortunately, one 1974 clad was mixed in the collection. Generally satisfied with the condition.
