This 1st Issue Fractional Currency was released during the Civil War when coins were hoarded out of circulation by the public. This example is the Ten Cent denomination with straight edges. Uncut sheet of 4 notes.

Certificate Highlights:
  • Housed in an archival quality currency sleeve.
  • Extra Fine example with nice coloring.
  • Face: An engraving of five of the contemporary issue of Ten Cent postage stamps featuring a bust of George Washington.
  • Back: Black printing of the obligation at center surrounding a large numeral “10”, with an intricate engraving.
  • This is the straight edge type with the ABC monogram on the back—Friedberg #1242.
