This Colonial Note was issued by the State of New Jersey, which was authorized by the state legislature on January 9, 1781.
This note is in the denomination of Six Pence, more commonly known as 1 and 6. This example has been circulated, but still is in Fine condition. Nice bold printing with NEW JERSEY watermark readily evident when held up to the light. A nice example of paper currency printed near the end of the Revolutionary War.
