13th Amendment to the United States Constitution
Enacted December 6, 1865
"Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."
These rounds were made by Johnson Matthey in the early 1980s and are one of ten in the “Freedom Series”. These rounds depict the 13th Amendment of the United States Constitution, "Freedom from Slavery”.
Round Highlights:
- Contains 1 oz of .999 fine Silver.
- Round comes in protective packaging.
- Obverse: Reads "Freedom from Slavery" and depicting a slave breaking his chains.
