This modern release from the U.S. Mint pays homage to one of the most historic coins ever produced in the United States, and brings the high quality of modern minting technology to this classic design. With original examples out of reach to most collectors, the 2024 Flowing Hair Silver medal offers an opportunity to add this famed design to your collection!

Flowing Hair Silver Dollars
America's first silver dollars, minted in 1794 and 1795, featured a depiction of Liberty with her head tilted upwards, her majestic hair flowing behind her. This design, created by Robert Scot, the first Chief Engraver of the US Mint, was used for these two years only, before being replaced by the newer draped bust design partway through 1795.

From an original mintage of just over 160,000 coins between the two years, only about 10,000 are believed to survived to present, the vast majority of which are dated 1795, and show wear associated with heavy circulation use. This 2024 re-release of this classic coin offers the chance to add this iconic type to your collection in stunning condition.
