Only $39.99 per coin!
This Silver drachma coin comes from the reign of Azes II, king of Bactria, present day Afghanistan, from 35 B.C. to A.D. 5. He was a political descendant of Alexander the Great, who brought Greek culture to the East.

Coin Highlights:
  • Contains .01 oz Silver.
  • Comes in a protective deluxe folder with a historical story and a certificate of authenticity.
  • Obverse: Legend in Greek.
  • Reverse: Legend in Indian, making this coinage among the earliest bilingual coinage.

These Biblical Silver coins are collectible and educational. Add this Silver the Magi coin to your order today!

Much of Azes' coinage was issued before the birth of Christ, but some had to be struck on the day of Christ's birth, and all were in circulation when Christ lived.

The Magi, Caspar (or Gaspar), Melchior and Balthazar, were thought to be court astrologers from the east. Many scholars believe Caspar to have been a representative sent by "The Great King" Azes II of ancient Bactria to the Holy Land to pay homage to the newborn Jesus.

History you can hold!

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Just the age of the coin alone is impressive. The coin I received has remarkable detail compared to a few of the reviews I've read. Sending this with my son for show and tell in his Bible class at school.

This Is So Cool !

Well....we are Not talking Gold, Silver, etc here.....we have a Ancient Coin from the time of Jesus and being a Christian....when I saw this from APMEX it was a Must Have for me ! Amazing to have in My possession a actual Coin that was in circulation during the time of Jesus. That is freaking awesome ! And I am also a History nut....so this decision to pick up this Drachma was easy for me ! I'm actually looking at another Coin Set from around the same era to add to my Collection. So it aint over just yet for me ! But anyone out there who is into this kind of Collecting...but all means pick one up ! It comes in a nice Booklet and its sealed. And a nice background write up as well. I def give this a Thumbs Up !

A good buy with a historical value

This coin has some historical background. As a rare collectible, definitely worth the purchase. A hammer stricken design makes up for a unique design. Glad to have such a rare coin.

Great conversation piece!

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I was actually surprise that my coin was much higher detail than the one in the picture. The display booklet with history really adds to this coin. There is something special about holding a coin that was being passed around before Christ. A great conversation piece and I look forward to sharing with my nieces and nephews as an educational piece.

Hmmm

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

Interesting to hold such a relic; too bad mine has hardly any features on it and what's there is unrecognizable. Looks nowhere near as cool as the picture. But I trust it's authentic. Still cool but don't think every one they send out will look like the picture. I understand how they were made- the pictured one is a rare one, stamped in the center/cut properly. Most had offset marks and mines half missing. Just wish Apm. would make sure their best customers don't get the worst of the lot. Not worth the cost of returning.

  • No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Fantastic Coin, really unique.

The display for this product is what caught my attention. The coin is backed with a COA and a nice pamphlet describing the history of this coin, which I thought was really intriguing.
