This beautiful $100 Bond Certificate from the Confederate States of American was authorized August 19th, 1861. CR-31, B-63. Printed by B. Duncan, Lith. Columbia S.C.

Portrait of Judah Benjamin - Jewish Statesman and Lawyer as well as Attorney General of the Confederate States of America, who escaped to England at the end of the war. He was a US Senator from Louisiana from 1852-1861 and was one of the earliest to advocate secession.

This bond is signed by Register of the Confederate Treasury, Robert Tyler; Lawyer, Politician, Editor, Son and Private Secretary of United States President John Tyler.

Attractively housed in protective sleeve. Total dimensions are 9 1/2" x 14" not including coupons of which some are attached. This is a rare opportunity with only 916 of this bond issued. A very important piece of Southern history!
