Damaged rim

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I bought this little gold coin because I have purchased from Apmex before and was pleased with the products. However, when I received this coin I was quite disappointed. I guess this coin used to be jewelry because there was burn marks on the rim and on the obverse like there was a bezel there at one time. The ad said it was cleaned, not damaged. I'm keeping the coin since I need it for my collection. I was going to order a two and a half dollar gold coin but after this experience I will wait and purchase my numismatic coins in person and just use Apmex for bullion.

  • Pros
  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Recognized Brand
  • Cons
  • Poor Condition
  • Bottom Line
  • No, I would not recommend this to a friend
