The vignette at top center on this $1000 bond is an image of the Old Customs House in the Confederate Capital at Richmond, Virginia.
This bond, issued at Richmond, was authorized by the Confederate Congress on March 23, 1863.
It is a 5 year bond that pays 6% per annum and has a maturity date in 1868.
A coupon or two are missing which is typical for these. The overall quality of the paper is very good and the overall grade is extra fine. A very nice piece of Confederate history.
