This bond, issued at Richmond, VA, was authorized by the Confederate Congress on February 20, 1863. It pays 8% per annum and matures 5 years later in 1868.

Certificate Highlights:
  • Housed in an archival quality currency sleeve.
  • The first two bond coupon is missing, as is common with these. The bond was folded in thirds at one time, so there are two horizontal creases, but the overall grade is Very Fine.
  • Face: Features a vignette at top center on this $100 bond is an image of Confederate Vice President Alexander H. Stephens.
  • Back: Blank.
