This Polish Gold coin was made to comemmorate the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York. It shows a cross-country skier on the reverse. Called a Proba in Poland, this design was rejected in favor of the adopted ski jumper design that is commonly encountered. It does have the same Imperial Eagle with date and denomination on the obverse. Unknown quantity struck, and rarely offered for sale! The Gold content is .2315 of an ounce. NGC has certified this coin not only as a proof 69, but an Ultra Cameo as well! An absolute beauty!
