This coin features a detailed representation of Napoleon Bonaparte looking out into the sea as the HMS Northumberland, the ship that conveyed him to exile, sails away. The obverse depicts a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. St. Helena is one of the most remote islands in the world which is probably why it was loaned to the British government as a place of exile. This coin measures 33.5 millimeters in diameter and weighs one ounce. Only 5,000 of these coins have been authorized for worlwide issue. Struck at the Royal Mint these coins are legal tender and have a face value of 50 pounds.
