This is the much scarcer 1921 Pilgrim Issue! The year before, in 1920, the 300th anniversary of the Landing of the Pilgrims at Plymouth Rock was celebrated. The celebrations continued until late in 1921. The obverse depicts a portrait of Governor Bradford and the reverse depicts the Pilgrim ship, the Mayflower. While the 1920 issue had a mintage of 152,112 coins, the 1921 issue only had 20,053 coins minted. Another interesting trait is a large lump of metal in front of his nose and a bit of dye clash on the obverse showing the U of United States to the right of the ship. A scarce and unusual coin.
