I have wanted to add a piece of Japanese silver to the collection. This piece is perfect...a solid XF, leaning towards AU. Well struck, great condition and clean (not cleaned!).

Beautiful Shogunate Coin

Was this review helpful? Yes/ No

I ordered this and two other related products, the Electrum Nibu-kin and the Electrum Nishu-Ku, as gifts. This coin (and the others) appear exactly as represented. I rarely buy numismatic coins, except for their unique interest or beauty, and this coin possesses both, with a wealth of minute details to enjoy, including diagonal milling around the edge. The only thing a prospective buyer should consider before purchasing this coin is that it is SMALL (and the others like it much more so). The listing image doesn't quite convey scale; this coin is slightly larger than a man's thumbnail, and perhaps as thick as a US Five Cent coin. Nevertheless, I consider this piece of historical coinage a fine value.

  • Pros
  • Attractive Design
  • Collectible (lower mintage)
  • Bottom Line
  • Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
