This 2nd year of issue coin exhibits only light wear on the high spots of the design elements.

The Liberty Seated Dollar, designed by Christian Gobrecht, was minted from 1840 to 1873. In 1841, only 173,000 Philadelphia mint Liberty Seated Dollars were struck, making it a tough coin to locate. Seated Liberty Silver Dollars were primarily minted in Philadelphia, although there are 12 different branch mint issues. In its 33 year run, less than 7 million Liberty Seated Dollars were struck.
