This coin was minted only 1852 with the portrait of Louis Napoleon the prospective emperor Napoleon III. The size of the coin, 5.81 grams, goes back more than 200 years to the French Revolution. Coins of this size were minted for decades in many different designs all over Europe, in France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Poland and other countries. Some kind of a historic Euro, and subject of my manyfold collection.
