    Heroica batalla del 5 de mayo de 1862 Puebla centenario front has a man on a horse, cannon, cannon balls back has an eagle holding a snake in its mouth and foot while stepping on a cactus the battle of Puebla took place on May 5, 1862 near the city of puebla during the French intervention in Mexico. the battle ended in a victory for the Mexican army against the occupying French forces. the victory is celebrated today during the festivities of cinco de mayo, the 5th of May.
