Gold coin from the Republic of Venice!
Struck when Venice was an important trading center on the Adriatic Sea with influence that spanned the Mediteranian and most of Europe! This Gold Zecchino (Ducat) was minted between 1659 and 1674 at the Venice mint and contains .1122 oz actual Gold weight. The obverse features Christ standing, and the reverse shows the Doge (Domenico II Contarini) kneeling. This example is graded Almost Uncirculated 55 by NGC. Listed in Krause as FM#1332.
