Gold Buffalo Values
Gold Buffalos are official gold bullion coins produced by the United States Mint, first introduced in 2006 and struck in 24-karat gold – making it one of the purest gold coins produced by the mint. The most common sizes are 1 oz and 1/2 oz. The coin's design is based on James Earle Fraser's iconic 1913 Buffalo Nickel. The obverse features the profile of a Native American chief, while the reverse showcases the image of an American bison, also known as a buffalo. The coin's classic design and high gold purity make it popular among investors and collectors, highlighting the rich heritage of American coinage.

About the Gold Buffalo
The Gold Buffalo is produced by the US Mint, and unlike its silver counterpart, it is a coin and not a round. The silver Buffalo does not have a face value and is minted at many different private mints. By contrast the gold Buffalo is available as both a bullion gold coin and as a proof coin from the US Mint. Proof coins are collectible and carry a higher premium. The price tag on bullion gold Buffalos carry a similar premium as the gold Eagle. There are also graded gold Buffalos that are bought and sold for a price significantly above spot. Also unlike the silver Buffalo, the gold Buffalo does have specific years that are worth more than others. Despite its status in the industry, it’s still a bullion coin and prices tend to rise and fall in tandem with the spot price of gold like other bullion coins.
