What is your return policy?
We guarantee your satisfaction at APMEX. We provide all our customers with a refund, return and/or exchange policy on everything we sell including all bullion and certified coins. This right is limited to seven (7) days from the date on which the customer receives their items. The refund, return and/or exchange policy only applies to customers who notify our Customer Service Department by telephone at (800) 375-9006 within seven (7) days from the date on which the customer receives their item and keeps the item in its original packaging. The Customer Service Department will give you instructions on how to return your items.
Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable. For returns, you must carefully package the product and you are responsible for the cost of return shipping. APMEX reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to reject any return that does not comply with these requirements.
We want our customers to be pleased with their purchases. If for any reason you have a problem, please feel free to call our offices and discuss it with us. We will always do our best to accommodate you. We may charge a 5% restocking fee on all credit card orders returned. APMEX reserves the right to charge a restocking fee of $50 or 10% of the total order price (whichever is greater) on all refunded orders. We may charge a $50 processing fee on all exchanges. If an refund is requested, we reserve the right to find an acceptable replacement or refund your money if an acceptable replacement is not available. Refunds, at our discretion, may be issued via APMEX store credit redeemable for future purchases in lieu of a cash refund.
On returning bullion related items, the customer may (at APMEX's discretion) be required to pay for any market loss on their returns. Any market gain on refunds shall remain the property of APMEX.
Pricing or Typographical Errors - We work hard to provide accurate product and pricing information. However, pricing or typographical errors may occur. In the event that an item is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information due to an error in pricing or product information, APMEX shall have the right, at our sole discretion, to refuse or cancel any orders placed for that item. If an item is incorrectly priced, we will either contact you for instructions or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation. Prices and availability are subject to change without notice.

Are there risks?
All investments involve risk - coins and bullion are no exception. The value of a bullion coin (e.g., American Eagles or Canadian Maple Leafs) is affected by many economic factors, including the current market price of bullion, the perceived scarcity of the coins and many other factors. Some of these factors include the quality, current demand and general market sentiment. Therefore, because both bullion and coins can go down as well as up in value, investing in them may not be suitable for everyone. Since all investments, including bullion and coins, can decline in value, you should understand them well, and have adequate cash reserves and disposable income before considering a bullion or coin investment.
Is Gold, Silver, Platinum or Palladium taxable?
APMEX does not collect sales tax on most Precious Metals items such as Gold, Silver, Platinum and Palladium. Jewelry items and non-Precious Metal products (such as coin tubes and other supplies) are taxed if shipped within Oklahoma. For Oklahoma customers, these taxable items are clearly designated at checkout with a Taxable subtotal for the customer’s reference. A Non-Taxable Subtotal is also shown for items that are not taxed.
Can APMEX store my Gold, Silver, Platinum or Palladium for me?
Yes. Do you report my purchase of Precious Metals to the IRS?
APMEX is not required to report our sales transactions to the IRS or any other federal, state or local agencies unless you fall under the Form 8300 requirement.

Is it safe to buy Gold with a credit card?
When ordering with APMEX, no matter which payment method you use, you can rest assured knowing both your order and your payment information are secure. To prevent fraudulent credit card activity, we only accept buying Gold and Silver bullion with a credit card on orders up to $500,000 (USD) and also require that your shipping address match your billing address. Incorrect shipping information will result in the delay or possible cancellation of your order. If you wish to receive your order at a different shipping address, please use one of the other payment methods available.
There are many advantages to buying Gold with a credit card, including the added benefit of the Verified by Visa and the MasterCard SecureCode programs, both of which APMEX participates in. At checkout, once either Visa or MasterCard has been identified as your chosen payment method, our system will automatically verify if your card is enrolled in the corresponding program. If your card is enrolled in either program, you will be prompted to answer security questions for identification purposes. If your card is not enrolled in one of these programs, you will have the opportunity to set up a PIN to use for the applicable program. Please note that APMEX has absolutely no access to the confidential information provided by you to the Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode program. These security questions and answers are requested by the issuing credit card and this exchange is strictly between you and Visa or MasterCard.
As always, all APMEX orders are fully insured while in transit. Shipping, handling and insurance charges are free for domestic orders of $99 or more, while orders under this threshold will be charged a $9.95 shipping fee. In addition to being insured by APMEX, buying Gold or Silver with a credit card or debit card can add further protection to your order. Credit card companies can protect their customers against potential issues such as mail fraud or damaged products. Many customers enjoy using their credit card to purchase Precious Metals from APMEX as this adds one more layer of security.
Buying Platinum, Palladium and Copper with a credit or debit card
APMEX stocks more than 10,000 Gold, Silver, Platinum and Palladium products, as well as Copper, currency and many collectibles. All of these products can be purchased using a credit card or debit card. Customers buying Platinum, Palladium or Copper with a credit card receive the same guaranteed protection and security as those buying Gold and Silver bullion with a credit or debit card.
