I received mine in the mail about an hour ago. Love the coin! It looks a little scuffed in one area but with the age that's to be expected. Glad I bought mine when I did. I have a few other years but none this far back! Now just waiting for the 1990 one to come back into stock! Thanks again APMEX!

Of all the dozens of different government issued 1 oz silver rounds I have, the pandas are probably my favorite series, and one of the very few I'm collecting. I only have a handful so far, but they are all fantastic coins, with a diverse array of finishes. Working on the whole series, the 1989 was a natural and obvious selection. The coin is great, and even better than expected. It obviously has a different look and feel than any of the more modern bullion coins; almost seems fake, to be honest, but it's just different. It's frosted but it's not frosted; it's proof-like but it's not proof-like. I really like it. That said, I paid a painful premium for it. Could have purchased it for half price elsewhere, but I felt that Apmex was a more trusted source, and opted for the higher price in the hopes that I received a genuine coin (pandas are commonly counterfeited).

Merchant response: We guarantee authenticity of all our items. If you find a Chinese Panda coin that is half the price, chances are it is counterfeit.
