APMEX seals each MintDirect® coin individually after it is removed from the original mint boxes to help preserve its authenticity and condition. Every coin is placed inside a protective authentication card made from a non reactive plastic polymer designed to safeguard the coin’s surface. The card is then sealed, creating tamper evident packaging intended to protect your investment long term.

APMEX developed the MintDirect® program to ensure customers receive coins sourced directly from the U.S. Mint. The MintDirect® designation confirms that these coins originate from mint sealed Monster Boxes and were handled exactly as delivered, offering added confidence when purchasing, storing, or selling.
Each MintDirect® coin is individually sealed after removal from original mint tubes. The coin is placed inside an authentication card made from a non reactive plastic polymer designed to help protect the coin’s surface.
The coin is then sealed within the authentication card, forming tamper evident packaging intended to preserve the coin’s condition. If the packaging has been opened or altered, it will be immediately visible. After sealing, every package undergoes inspection to confirm that it meets APMEX packaging standards. The result is a finished MintDirect® 2013 1 oz Silver American Eagle Single.
Through this process, APMEX helps ensure the coins you receive remain authentic and preserved in the same condition as when they left the U.S. Mint. The MintDirect® program gives investors confidence that their coin can be bought, held, or sold with assurance of authenticity.
Note: The MintDirect® process does not prevent spotting or tarnishing that can occur naturally with chemically active metals such as gold, silver, and platinum.
The Silver Eagle is the only 1 oz silver bullion coin struck by the United States Mint. All Silver Eagles in MintDirect® packaging are guaranteed to remain in the same condition as when they were received from the U.S. Mint.
