Each coin is secured within an authentication card made from a protective, non reactive plastic polymer designed to safeguard the coin’s surface. The card is then sealed, forming tamper evident packaging intended to preserve the coin long term.

APMEX developed the MintDirect® program to help ensure customers receive coins sourced directly from the U.S. Mint. The MintDirect® designation indicates that these coins originate from mint sealed Monster Boxes and were processed exactly as they arrived, giving buyers added assurance when purchasing, storing, or selling.

Each MintDirect® coin is sealed individually after being removed from original mint tubes. The coin is placed into an authentication card made from a non reactive plastic polymer designed to help protect the coin’s surface.

During sealing, the coin becomes enclosed within the authentication card, forming tamper evident packaging intended to preserve the coin’s condition. If the packaging has been opened or altered, it will be immediately visible. After sealing, every package is inspected to confirm it meets APMEX packaging standards. The result is a finished MintDirect® 2017 1 oz Silver American Eagle Single.
