I ended up buying another just for the benefit of the doubt. Out of the 3 pieces I've received, all had imperfections. I've made the conclusion that you'll only get mishandled or copper spotted proofs. This latest one had bad scratches on it. I'm not a picky person, but with a premium that high, I would expect better quality. If you're looking into gold I'd recommend the eagle or maple, they are closer to spot and in better condition.
- Pros
- Attractive Design
- Cons
- Hard to Sell
- Poor Condition
- Bottom Line
- No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I bought this piece as an entry into gold investing. I was looking to get a BU as advertised but ended up getting a copper spotted proof. I returned it just to have a different copper spotted proof sent back to me. I know these coins are slim pickings but I was really hoping to enjoy the BU strike, the copper spotting takes away from the beauty of the coin.
- Pros
- Attractive Design
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Figured these weren't too much more expensive than the more common gold eagles. Thought it was a good idea to have a couple of them just in case their premiums rise in the future if more people start to collect them. I was happy to land a 2006 with my "random year" purchase and the coin was defect free using the naked eye. I could easily see myself picking up another one or two of these in the future.
- Pros
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Attractive Design
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
