The thing that attracted me most about this coin is the low mintage of 15,000 coins. A very Beautiful little coin about the size of a U.S Dime. Very detailed Kookaburra on the reverse side of the coin, almost looks like a proof coin. Obverse side of the coin has a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II who I really don't much care about. All in all a very great buy. ????

As a new stacker i had a choice to get this coin or a AGE but what sold me was the fact that this coin had more pure gold.( .999) compared to the AGE that has copper and gold to make it durable. As a new stacker I would like to add more precious metals. :) its absolutely stunning i love color.

Just ordered several. This is the first ever gold Kookaburra released, perhaps trying to test out the market for demand. I hope they would introduce 1 oz or 2 oz gold Kooks next round. The value of this coin would go much higher and faster than corresponding silvers.
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)
- Attractive Design
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Easy to Sell
- Recognized Brand
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Brilliant idea from the Perth Mint. Im hoping that these fractional kookaburra coins will become an annual series from the Perth mint, and they begin minting them each year in conjunction with the silver kooks. It would be nice to see the US Mint do a fractional gold buffalo each year also to compete with the offerings. I’m glad I located these on the Apmex site, they should be more prominently displayed so they can be noticed. Sure to sell out IMO
