Marcus Tullius Cicero and the Right to Keep and Bear Arms
Marcus Tullius Cicero was a famous Roman who lived from 106 BC to 43 BC. During his life, Cicero was a politician, lawyer, philosopher and academic skeptic. He was renowned for his prolific writing and opinions on a range of topics from philosophy to politics and rhetoric. Cicero is regarded as one of Rome’s most notable orators and prose stylists and is credited with lifting up Latin’s use in the academic sphere.

The excellent thinker was a lawyer and politician in his lifespan and was a leading player in many historic moments of the Roman Empire. For example, he contributed to halting an unsuccessful coup and later, during Julius Caesar’s tenuous rule, Cicero advocated for a return to a conventional type of republican government.

Cicero’s viewpoint and republican position inspired the Founding Fathers of the United States. Thomas Jefferson is even reported as stating that Cicero was one of the few key historical people he drew from when he was drafting the Declaration of Independence. Cicero was for every individual’s right to bear arms so that they could act in self-defense and also defend society against tyranny.

Founders of Liberty
Founders of Liberty is a distinctive line of rounds available only at APMEX that celebrate the concepts that make freedom viable. These ideas are represented with symbolic representations on the reverse while the obverse displays a historical figure who either formed the concept or was chosen as the idea's perfect representative. These rounds highlight prominent voices for liberty, including U.S. Founding Fathers and the men they looked to for inspiration.

Each release in the series offers a collectible limited mintage antique round that arrives in a distinctive display box and comes with a unique certificate of authenticity. Bullion rounds are also available in unlimited mintages that showcase the same designs as the antique rounds. These bullion rounds can also be bought in special tamper-evident packaging, making it a good option if the antique rounds sell out first.

We are never more than one generation away from losing out on liberty. Leave these important values as gifts to the next generation or grow your Precious Metal holdings in a style that recognizes the men and ideas that made such prosperity possible.
