Maltese Cross
The Maltese cross has become an iconic part of the country of Malta's heritage and culture over the course of hundreds of years. The origin of the cross is debated, although one common thought is that it evolved from a cross typically found on coins minted in the Italian Republic, Amalfi, during the 11th century. The moment I saw this coin I knew I had to have it. The Maltese Cross design is amazing! My only issue is that the picture on the APMEX website clearly shows a silver coin with a black background. However the coin that was received is completely silver, like the photo for the 2023 version of the coin which I thought was misleading. I am still happy with the purchase and would order it again, but I just would have preferred if the coin had the black background like the picture, as it really made the design pop.
