Monnaie de Paris
Founded in 1864, not only is Monnaie de Paris France's longest standing institution, but it is also the oldest enterprise in the world. Today, the mint strikes circulation coins for France, as well as beautiful gold and silver commemorative coin programs that are each intricately designed works of art. The mint is also home to a museum that hosts exhibitions, tours and workshops as well as the Guy Savoy Restaurant.
Monnaie de Paris pays tribute to the beautiful French region Grand Est with this new series. This silver coin would make a great addition to any tennis fan's collection!
Coin Highlights:
- Contains 12 grams or .386 oz of .999 fine Silver.
- This magnificent coin comes in a box with a certificate of authenticity from the Monnaie de Paris.
- Mintage of 2,500 coins.
- Reverse: Features all the regions that form the French territory. The outline of the design is covered by sandblasted discs of varying diameters. Their positioning forms the silhouette of mainland France, distinguished by its polished finish. This silhouette is covered by the RF letters, on which the French flag is engraved in heraldry, and by the €5 face value. The names of all the French mainland regions are written on their geographical location. At the bottom are the silhouettes of Corse and the overseas regions.
- Obverse: Gathers symbols dear to the Grand Est region. The name of the region is vertically written along the spire of the Strasbourg cathedral in the middle. The building on the right of the design is a symbol of the architecture of Grand Est. A stork sits atop a cathedral. On the left, the imposing silhouette of a vine leaf forms a frame around the portrait of Clovis, the first kind of the Francs. Finally, a bunch of grapes, linked to the vine leaf, reminds of a shared activity between the territories of the region: Vine-growing which is especially developed in Champagne and Alsace.
- Guaranteed by the Monnaie de Paris.
