I ordered this along with 1oz platinum bars. There was only one in stock so I just added it to my order not expecting much. I was pleased to see that I received a perfect condition 2001 coin. I won't hesitate to order these random year coins in the future.

I used to be a fan of generic bullion, but I've become more and more interested in gold and silver American Eagles lately so I figured a platinum Eagle would fit nicely in my collection. I like the fact that it is pure .9995 platinum bullion and also has the $50 face value. The coin looks great! The platinum has a deep, brilliant grayish color and is in mint condition. I feel like it's never a bad idea to diversify and add a little platinum to your stack of gold and silver. As always, another great transaction with Apmex.

WOW......I received a 1997, 1998, 2001, 2002 and 2004. I've seen the spot price low and jump on the Apmex deal and grab these up quickly and yes two half is cheaper then the 1oz. at least for the moment ...The coins was mint and has a nice appearance to it....THANKS APMEX AND D.J FOR THE NICE SELECTION OF DATES....HIP HIP HOORAYYYY

I have a smaller one, but this Coin just puts it to shame. It is so shiny and I got very lucky receiving the year 2000. I love the random items APMEX offers, it is fun to get a surprise.

I ordered one of these half ounce Platinum Eagle's. What i didn't expect what the weight and look of the platinum. I ended up with a 2002 issue and i'm not sure if its just the look of the platinum but it looks 10x shiner then silver and seems to be proof quality. This coin is simply amazingly beautiful, bold, and very heavy, I love this coin and will be getting more platinum.

This completes my "eagles". I have a 1874 double eagle, a 1910 St Gaudens eagle, and a 2016 double eagle. However, this eagle is only 1/2 oz & platinum. It seems to be shinier than similar silver coins. APMEX issued me a 2001.
