I recently purchased another one of these coins from APMEX and am very satisfied. I ONLY buy the 1990 series when they are available (and when I can afford it!) Most important is the design. The 1990 series has the 'red kangaroo design'. That is also what is featured on the current huge kilo size kangaroo coin AND on the Largest Gold Coin in the World - the 1 ton gold coin making it what I believe to be the most recognizable. I like the Raphael Maklouf effigy depicting a 'younger queen' over the IRB design. Also it's a true Australian Gold Nugget, before they were switched to Australian Gold Kangaroos. 9999 fineness and available with this design from 2 oz to 1/20. Simple yet beautiful classic coin.
