I ordered these as an economical way of adding a few ounces of bullion to the stack. I wasn't concerned about their condition since they are advertised as culls. I was very pleasantly surprised to see how really nice they are! Out of 10, I received 8 different dates ranging from 2000 to 2018. The 2000 had a few dings but the rest appear BU. Apmex never fails to earn my continued loyalty and business.

I'm a stacker, not a collector. "Grade" and/or "Condition" is on the bottom of my priority list. I'm looking for weight. That said, these "manhole covers" were a treat to my stash! I ordered six, and all of them looked new to me...even the 1987. Yeah, I'll order more. The price is too good right now not to.

I had previously read several reviews on Apmex regarding the silver American Eagle "culls." I decided to order a half a dozen. To my complete surprise, when they arrived, three of the six coins ordered looked new and pristine. I am not a coin grader, but I looked these coins over very carefully and could not distinguish them from ordinary mint BU. The other three, however, had noticeable spots and what looked to be where someone had lightly scraped at whatever had been on them before. They were still in great shape. Do not hesitate to order these culls. I hope that you are as surprised as I was. I would note; I am more of a "stacker" than a collector. ~S

I bought 7 of these to finish off a tube of Culls . They arrived today and I must say these are some of the best cull rounds I have owned. You have to look at each round to find the damage on them. Even though these are not BU, they still came in great conditions. If I decide to do another tube of Cull Silver Eagles I’m come back to APMEX.
- Pros

- Cons
- Common (higher mintage)
- Bottom Line
