I have always loved the obverse/reverse design of the the 1887-1893 Victoria Jubilee coins and have multiple silver crowns. I’ve always wanted to pick up a sovereign and my order did not disappoint! The listing says that the coin is supposed to be in VG-XF condition and I believe mine was somewhere in Fine to Very Fine territory. Very little in the way of blemishes! Received an 1888 coin which from my research was one of the lower mintage years. Definitely looking into picking up a few more in the future.
- Pros
- Attractive Design
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Easy to Sell
- Mint Condition
- Recognized Brand
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

What a gorgeous coin! It far exceeded my expectations! Offered as "average circulation", this 125-yr-old coin exhibited only the to-be-expected bag marks, and just the faintest hints of wear; this is easily an AU coin. When examined under magnification, the sculptural beauty of this well-struck coin is astonishing. I am delighted to own such a gem.
- Pros
- Value (low premium over spot)

- Easy to Sell
- Mint Condition
- Recognized Brand
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I bought this coin to round out my sovereign type set. I received an 1892 London. 1892 is the most common of the Jubilee Heads and London is the most common mint for the year. Nonetheless, it's a very nice coin and representative of the quality pictured on the APMEX website. This is my favorite Victoria design so I may try for another one of these at some point and cross my fingers for a different year. I love APMEX, especially for gold sovereigns. Excellent customer service and prompt delivery.

I like the crowned head which differs from the other busts of Victoria. The reverse with St. George on horseback slaying the dragon is a favorite image. No particular flaws only worn high spots

Bought this coin to complete a gold sovereign type set. It's not the star of the set, but a cost effective place-holder until I can trade up for and uncirculated example. By design, I prefer the "Young Victoria" example. Still, not a bad looking coin.
- Pros
- Collectible (lower mintage)
- Bottom Line
- Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
