I bought this to hold my collection of 10 oz Geiger Silver Bars. I thought it had hinges, but the top cover is more like a lid. There are 4 protruding pieces of wood that you must align the lid with the base to ensure a nice it, but its no problem. Mine arrived with rub marks on it as if it wasnt cared for well before shipment. I wished QA caught it. I might have to call them to ask for a return/replacement. It was shipped very well adn packed tight and quality packing materials. I liekd that. But for $30.00 it was prices right for hand made wood box to hold your silver. The inside cutouts alllow the 10 oz Geiger silver bars to fit nicely inside, very snug. The silver bars are wrapped with palstic and the seams sticks out a little but not alot.

The quality of this item isn't the best. The top just kind of sets on four slots of wood, its not hinged. The wood and the stain aren't the best quality but the insert is pretty sturdy at least. Wish it were a bit better quality for something holding so much value, but for the price, I can recommend it.
